Virtual Wine Education: Become a Champagne Expert (FREE!)
Social distancing and travel restrictions are the new normal (for now). While we can’t do much about that, we can still turn stay-at-home into an opportunity to learn and acquire new skills that will be useful once life goes back to some type of normal. Say cheers to the first-of-its-kind, new Champagne online course, MOOC, launched by the Comité Champagne offers.
Representing 16,000 growers and 319 houses of Champagne, France, the MOOC was created by the Comité Champagne and is offered for free. The Classic Version course takes an estimated three to five hours to complete and can be taken anytime – virtually.
The four educational sessions cover the history of Champagne, the terroir that produces it, the winemaking process, the many different varieties of Champagne wines, and how to taste them. (We love the latter the best!) The classic version grants you free access to the four sessions.
Prefer to take your champagne learning further, the premium version expands your knowledge to new heights for about $55 (49€). To learn more, visit www.champagne-mooc.com.
And if you want to become a Champagne expert ahead of time, visit www.champagne-mooc.com.
